Kanwar Yatra is thee festival of Hindu which falls in the
month of Shravan starts in mid-July started the sacred pilgrimage journey,it’s
commemorate in Uttarakhand and other parts of India During this yatra, millions
of devotees of Lord Shiva known as 'Kanwariya' from all states and cities of
India make a journey to Haridwar, Gangotri, and Gaumukh in the state of
Uttarakhand while chanting Bol Bam to gather sacred water from the River Ganga
and carry it across hundreds of miles to offer it at their local or popular
Shiva temples such as Pura Mahadeva and Augharnath temple in Meerut, and Kashi
Vishwanath, Baidyanath, and Deoghar in Jharkhand. During the Kanwar Yatra
During the Kanwar Yatra that starts in the monsoon months, the devotees of Lord
Shiva event observe a fast for every Monday Sawan Shivratri is the day for the
water offering or jalabhishek. There will be two monthly Shivratri in every
year when Shravan falls during Adhik Maas, an additional month in the Hindu
calendar (Sawan Shivratris). 'Kanwariya’s carried by the pilgrims on both

two colorful clay pots connected to its opposing ends. While undertaking this
trip, the Kanvarias balance the water for giving at the shrine of Lord
Shiva.,It’s a long month ceremony they gather holy water from designated
pilgrimage sites while walking barefoot and dressed in saffron. After that, the
devotees go back to their hometown and visit the local temple to conduct the
abhishekam of the Shivling It’s thought of as an expression of gratitude for
everything good in their lives.
